ASHFORD FORMULA � is a transparent liquid polymer for hardening, sealing and dust-proofing of concrete floors. CONCRETE HARDENER

ASHFORD FORMULA is recommended for exterior and interior concrete floors for parkings, warehouses, shopping centres, garages, and other premises with high transportation load.

ASHFORD FORMULA is applied to freshly laid as well as to dry concrete once and lasts the lifetime of the concrete.

ASHFORD FORMULA does not create any film on the surface subject to abrasion.

HARDENING OF CONCRETE
ASHFORD FORMULA makes concrete up to 40% harder. The concrete floor will become wear- and abrasion-resistant. Under the intensive maintainance the floors are polished. The more intensive mainteinance of the surface the better it looks.

SEALING OF CONCRETE
ASHFORD FORMULA seals the concrete surface preventing water and chemicals penetration during lifetime of the concrete.

DUST-PROOFING OF CONCRETE
ASHFORD FORMULA ties salts containing in concrete. Since the salts are the reason of dusting, the surface remain dust-proofed.

PROTECTING OF CONCRETE
ASHFORD FORMULA protects freshly laid concrete during the strength development period, minimize cracks formation, and provides increased concrete strength.

After application of ASHFORD FORMULA to mechanically grinded fresh concrete surface maintained floor increases its properties and gets soft �velvet� shine.

APPLICATION RESULTS

In 3-7 days
The floor should be dust-proofed

  • In 3-6 months
    The maintained surface should be little shiny
  • The surface becomes water and chemically-proofed. Liquids should not penetrate through the surface.

8. MAINTAINANCE

  • Mechanical abrasive cleaning polishes the floor and makes it shining. Wet cleaning accelerates sealing.
  • Alkaline cleaning agents are recommended.

9. SPECIFICATION

Abrasion ASTM Standard C 779 - Depth of wear. Abrasion resistance-Revolving disks 32,5% improvement at 30 minutes.
Bonding ASTM D 3359.
17% increase in epoxy adhesion
No change for polyurethane adhesion.
Curing Moisture loss during the critical 24 hour period was determined on treated and untreated samples in a controlled environment cabinet: 93% more moisture loss from untreated samples.
Hardening ASTM C39.
40% increase in compressive strength at 7 days;
38% increase at 28 days over untreated samples.
Permeability The seepage rate using a 7-foot head of water on a 4.91 sq.inch area treated with Ashford Formula, was 0.022 cc per hour. After several days the sample became damp but no local seepage was observed.
Friction Coefficient of friction on steel-troweled Ashford-treated samples: 0.86 dry, and 0.69 wet, far less slippery than reference tile (0.71 and 0.47).
Weathering ASTM G 23 - Ultra violet light and water spray exposure had no adverse effect on Ashford Formula treated samples.
COMMENTS
  • The products should not be applied under the temperature less than +5�C.
  • Joints cutting can be done also before or after ASHFORD FORMULA application. Dust and cement residues should be removed completely.
  • In case glue, coat, or paint is not going to be applied material residues can be left.
  • On intensively maintained floor areas shine will appear in several months. To accelerate this process and to get shine immediately abrasive polishing (first, with grade 60-80, then -100) of the surface is necessary. Abrasive polishing of freshly laid concrete can be done in 14 days after concrete is laid. Polishing of dry concrete can be done in 3-7 days.
  • For polishing, abrasive disk polishing machine and additional quantity of the product with consumption of about 1 l/15-20 m2 is used. The surface is dry approximately in 20 minutes. After that the surface is polished with abrasive disk machine. In case the shine level is not enough repeated application of the product with the consumption 1 l/15-20 m2 is recommended. The polished surface can be wet cleaned in 14 days.
  • Under high temperature or strong wind ASHFORD FORMULA can become slippery or dry faster than in 30 minutes after its application. In this case the following steps should be done:
    • Apply the quantity of ASHFORD FORMULA enough to keep the surface wet and non slippery within at least 10 minutes. No water moistering at this period.
    • Within next 20 minutes moister the surface with water from time to time. In this case the product becomes slippery very fast and can easily penetrate into the concrete.
